Martyn R Kent

Martyn joined the profession from school in 1989, gaining particular experience in auditing, financial statements and general taxation. He progressed to the position of Manager, focusing on providing a complete service to owner managed companies, sole traders and partnerships, but also being involved in more specialist work with charities, clubs and trusts.

He joined D.R.E. & Co in May 2000 as tax manager in the Shrewsbury office. In this role Martyn dealt mainly with the affairs of directors and shareholders of owner managed businesses whilst assisting the partners with high net worth individuals, specific planning and advice.

While gaining in depth knowledge of UK taxation (including corporation tax, group re-organisations, Inland Revenue clearances, income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax) Martyn has continued to develop his auditing and accounting skills. During his time at D.R.E. & Co Martyn has also studied for and passed the FPC exams of the Chartered Institute of Insurance.

In 2003 Martyn was promoted to partner and moved across to the Oswestry office to work alongside the Senior Partner, concentrating on maintaining the level of service expected by existing clients and looking to assist in developing the practice.
